DOGS OF DOWNTOWN: Moshi

moshi

Meet Moshi in our latest Dogs of Downtown feature! A four-year-old toy Goldendoodle originally from Kiln, Mississippi, Moshi now lives in Milwaukee and is enjoying all four seasons, especially snow zoomies!

Moshi is a proud community support dog for Harmonic Harvest and a certified Canine Good Citizen. From his humble beginnings, Moshi’s career has blossomed having modeled for brands like Gap, Disney, and Doggy Parton, thanks to SportPet Designs, LLC.

Favorite toy:
Moshi has a stuffed giraffe that’s been with him since puppyhood — it’s about his size and still his favorite companion when he’s not with his humans. Moshi even gets gifted giraffe toys now because it’s kind of his thing.

Favorite treat:
Homemade treats from the Journeyman Hotel are top-tier — but he also loves a good pup cup from Riley’s or some ice cream from Salty Paws. Moshi has a refined palate, but never turns down a snack!

Favorite thing about Milwaukee:
Milwaukee has really become a “dog district,” and Moshi loves it! Whether it’s getting pets from friendly strangers or joining fun events like the Halloween costume contest at Riley’s or doggy New Year’s at the Iron Horse Hotel — Moshi feels included everywhere he goes. It’s a great city for a pup with a social calendar.

Favorite downtown area hangout?
The Riverwalk is Moshi’s favorite! He has fun discovering art, architecture, and new smells while walking alongside the water. Moshi and his mom moved here so they could walk more — and this is definitely their route of choice.

Moshi actually means “drawn out of the water” in Hebrew, which is fitting since he’s always drawn to the water in Milwaukee.

Why is Moshi excited for Downtown’s first off-leash dog park?
Moshi is so excited for the new off-leash dog park! He grew up in the country where he could run freely, and he’s been trained to walk off leash — but there aren’t many safe spaces to do that Downtown. This park will be the perfect place to play, make new furry friends, and stretch his legs without mom trailing behind with a leash. Plus, being by the water and having thoughtful amenities? Sounds like a dream to both of us.

Keep up with the adventures of Moshi around Milwaukee and soon at the Downtown dog park on his Instagram page at @moshi.the.great! Also, check out his mom’s nonprofit organization that is one of the newest (pet-friendly) storefronts in this Historic Third Ward at @weavingsilverlinings!
